European Powerchampion’s League Results

Douai (France), host the 1rst Eurpean Powerchampion’s League November 07-09, 2008. It was a successful, event with eight teams from four countries participating including Belgium, Denmark, France, and England. The gymnasium was packed with spectators above and arround the court. For the final match of Montauban (France) vs Villeneuve d’Ascq (France), Montauban took the advantage scoring the first goal with two minutes left in the first half. Each team had (more…)

Powerchair Football Canada Moves Forward!

Powerchair Football players and volunteers from 2 provinces in Canada, Quebec and British Columbia, came together for a meeting from October 24 – 26, 2008, to start the historic process of establishing a constitution for “Powerchair Football Canada”.  The first step was selecting this new name that could easily translate into English and French, the two official languages of Canada.
Special guests included Herve Delattre, President of FIPFA; Jonathan Newman, President of the Zone of the Americas for FIPFA; Jo-Ann Arvey, Executive Director of CP Sports of Quebec; and Terrie Moore, Executive Director of CP Sports of BC. (more…)

On October 18th, FIPFA was invited to attend the Youth Russian Olympics in Moscow. This FIPFA delegation traveled with the specific purpose of introducing Powerchair Football to this country. A Montauban Handisport player was the starting point of this project and additionally, his club sent players and staff to assist FIPFA in their efforts promoting the sport.

Back from Switzerland

Fipfa just came back from Switzerland. After two days and a great Powerchair Football demonstration and clinics, one of the biggest Swiss newspaper “Tribune de Genève“, presented yesterday this important event.

Plusport, the Swiss Handisport Federation, invited 8 players (6 from France and 2 from USA). Switzerland, the next National Organisation of Powerchair Football ?
