p1040519The city of Zamość in Poland is 60km from the border with Ukraine, it has been a multi-cultural centre of learning and progress in Europe from its founding in the sixteenth century. It is also the furthest place to the south-east of FIPFA’s Europe Zone (as far as we know) to have a Powerchair Football club! (more…)

FIPFA Congress 2009, Georgia, USA

                               The echos of enthusiastic enjoyment from the players in the first Americas Cup had scarcely faded from the Swannee sports halls, yet on Monday morning, 26 October 2009 six National Organisations of Powerchair Football gathered in a conference room in nearby Gwinnette Place for the biennial governing body of FIPFA (Belgium, Canada, England, France, Portugal as well as our host the US Powerchair Soccer Association). Switzerland the next affiliate member?

On November 1st, 2nd and 3rd, FIFPA went to Switzerland, a new FIPFA associate member, to promote and develop Powerchair Football. The delegation included 8 players (7 France, 1 USA), 2 coaches (1 France, 1 USA), 2 referees (USA), Europe Zone President and FIPFA President who also is Director of the Development Commission. During 2 days, the delegation presented all the aspects of Powerchair Football: Federation organizational system, refereeing, equipment, team management, coaching, and playing.

European Powerchampion’s League Results

Douai (France), host the 1rst Eurpean Powerchampion’s League November 07-09, 2008. It was a successful, event with eight teams from four countries participating including Belgium, Denmark, France, and England. The gymnasium was packed with spectators above and arround the court. For the final match of Montauban (France) vs Villeneuve d’Ascq (France), Montauban took the advantage scoring the first goal with two minutes left in the first half. Each team had (more…)
